Network Requirements
Overview
Purpose
Adding conferencing and collaboration, particularly VoIP conferencing, to an existing
LAN environment can impose new stresses on the LAN. Without presuming to offer a
generalized guide to network engineering, this appendix offers some guidance on
estimating the impact of adding an OmniTouch Advanced Communications server to an
existing LAN. Note that, if you are deploying an IP PBX, your LAN may already be
engineered to accommodate the requisite VoIP traffic.
