Stack Design and
Operation
Overview
Purpose
This appendix discusses Alcatel-Lucent OmniTouch ACS stacking including the roles of Media servers
and Application servers.
Contents
This appendix covers the following topics:
Stacking capabilities
The OmniTouch ACS stacking feature allows a set of OmniTouch ACS servers to be
aggregated into a single larger virtual system.
Stacking provides two valuable capabilities:
In a Static stack, up to nine (9) My Teamwork servers can be stacked to provide both
scalability and redundancy for a maximum of 10,000 users per server. In a Dynamic stack,
up to 99 servers can be stacked.

Failover
This provides a “live backup” in the event of the failure of any
individual ACS server
Scalable Capacity
This provides a single pool of available media across all servers.
Individual conferences may thus span multiple servers, and spare
capacity is shared.
