changes. Similarly, if a stacked Media Server goes down, connections on it drop and it is
not used until it comes back up (OmniTouch ACS automatically restarts when it
encounters failure).
In addition to this increased redundancy in stacked mode, stacked media servers provide
transparent scaling of OmniTouch ACS’s capacity. Spare ports on any server may be used
when members are added to a conference (eliminating the need to purchase spare capacity
for each standalone server). Also, individual conferences may span multiple servers,
creating the possibility of very large meetings.
Media servers may be added to or removed from a stack dynamically through configuration
without disturbing stack operation.
