GPO
Pressing F5 - GPO - gives this screen:
This page allows you to set the parameters for the General Purpose Outputs (GPOs). The pa-
rameters are:
ACTIVE
Allows you to select OFF, HIGH or LOW. OFF switches the GPO function
off. HIGH selects that the GPO is normally low (0V) and when the se-
lected function is activated, the output will be pulled up to the voltage at
the GPO pullup pin. When set to LOW, the GPO is pulled to 0V when the
selected function is activated.
FUNCTION
A variety of functions may be applied to the GPOs. These are:
PLAYING - The GPO will change level when PLAY is activated.
STOPPED - The GPO will change level when STOP is activated.
LOCATING - The GPO will change level while locating to a timecode
position.
RECORDING - The GPO will change level when RECORD is activated.
EXT TIMECODE OK - The GPO will change level while external timecode
is being successfully received.
EXT WORDCLOCK OK - The GPO will change level while external
wordclock is being successfully received.
EXT TIME LOCK - The GPO will indicate when the transport is success-
fully locked to external timecode.
REC TRACK - These options allow a tally to be sent when any of the
record tracks are switched on/off.
REHEARSE - These options allow a tally to be sent when rehearse mode
is enabled.
TRACK SLIP 1 ..8 - These options allow an appropriate tally to be gener-
ated when a track is slipped.
F1/F2 are used to move the cursor between the Active and Function fields. The Prev/Next keys
(F3/F4) are used to scroll up and down through the list of GPIs.
Applications for the GPOs are varied and one that immediately springs to mind is that of using
one of the GPO outputs set to RECORDING to turn on a red light every time you drop into
record.
