Viewing Current Network Settings
The
Network > Information
screen displays the server's current network settings.
One column appears for each Ethernet port. Field definitions are given in the
following table:
Ethernet Interface Information
Port Name
The name of the ethernet interface (e.g., Ethernet1)
Enabled
Yes or no
TCP/IP Settings
Obtained from
DHCP or Static
IP Address
The unique 32-bit value that identifies the server on a
network subnet. This address consists of a network
address, optional subnet address, and host address. It
displays as four addresses ranging from 1 to 255,
separated by periods (.).
Subnet Mask
A portion of a network that shares a common address
component. On TCP/IP networks, subnets are all devices
with IP addresses that have the same prefix.
Primary WINS Server
The Windows Internet Naming Service server, which
locates network resources in a TCP/IP-based Windows
network by automatically configuring and maintaining the
name and IP address mapping tables.
Secondary WINS
Servers
Secondary Windows Internet Naming Service server(s)
Ethernet Address
The unique six-digit hexadecimal (0-9, A-F) number that
identifies the Ethernet port
Speed Status
10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, or 1000 Mbps
Duplex Status
Half-duplex: two-way data flow, only one way at a time. Full-
duplex: two-way data flow simultaneously.
Bonding Status
Standalone, Load balance, Failover, Switch Trunking, or
Link Aggregation
Gateway Information
Default Gateway
The network address of the gateway is the hardware or
software that bridges the gap between two otherwise
unroutable networks. It allows data to be transferred among
computers that are on different subnets.
