Chapter 1  Getting Familiar with your Computer

Audio

The standard computer configuration includes 16-bit high-
fidelity stereo audio with further enhancements that 
include 3-D sound for true audio immersion.  Dual 
speakers located on each side of the display hinge direct 
sound towards to further enhance sound output.  A 
sensitive microphone is located above the display screen.

Besides the built-in speakers, there are audio ports on the 
left panel of the computer.  See “Audio Devices” on page 52 
for more information on connecting external audio devices.

Controlling Volume

Controlling volume on the computer is easy with a rotary 
volume control knob on the right panel.  Turn the knob to 
the right to increase the volume; turn it to the left to 
decrease the volume.
