WARNING
Failure to follow these instructions may reduce respirator performance, overexpose you to contaminants, and
may result
in sickness or death.
• If the facepiece is to be used as an air purifying facepiece (without using the 3M™ Combination Dual Airline Breathing
Tubes SA-1600 or SA-2600), the inhalation valves MUST be replaced in the facepiece before use.
• Failure to use thread tape when replacing the breathing tube may result in damage to the female threads in the cap of
the air control valve and prevent a tight fi t and result in leakage.
The instructions for converting 3M™ Half Facepiece Respirators and 3M™ Full Facepiece Respirators for dual airline
supplied air applications are presented in this section. To set up a correct and complete assembly, follow the directions
below. Refer to the NIOSH approval label for approved respirator confi gurations.
