When you connect the telephone lines, the order in which the telephone
lines deliver calls matches the order of line card port extensions. For
example, connect the line that rings first to the port with extension 701,
connect the next telephone line to extension 702, and so forth.
See Figure 45 and use the following conventions when identifying
chassis, slots and line card ports in a system:
■
The chassis that holds the NCP is Chassis 1. The chassis serial number
appears on the label on the right side of the chassis. In a multi-chassis
configuration, the chassis with the next lowest serial number (relative
to Chassis 1) is Chassis 2; the chassis with the highest serial number is
the last chassis.
■
Slots are numbered from top to bottom. The top space is covered with
a blank cover. This space is reserved for future expansion of the call
processor — it is not a slot. Slot 1 in Chassis 1 always holds the NCP.
■
Line card ports are labeled on the front panel of the card. The first
connector, labeled PFT, accepts a standard POTS (2500 touch-tone
series compatible) telephone for a Power Fail Transfer situation. Do
NOT count it as a line port.
