The CONN FAIL IND message that OB06 send to BSC indicates that one
activated channel cannot be used more for some reasons.
When BSC receive this message, the network side releases the channel.
The message contains the cause parameter, including the following causes:
• Radio link fault (Section 5 in GSM 05.08). The OB06 judges whether
there is any fault according to the uplink SACCH error rate or
RXLEV/RXQUAL test.
• Hardware error (for example, decoder fault).
• Others.
The CHP module reports the error to FURRM. In addition, in case of failed
handover or miss-synchronization between CHP and TC, the FURRM also
sends this message to BSC.
E r r o r R e p o r t
The OB06 sends ERROR REPORT message to BSC, notifying the errors that
cannot be reported with other procedures.
When OB06 receives an error message, it ignores the message and
reports it to the BSC. Here, the ERROR REPORT is the message involving
all error causes except the CHAN ACTIV NACK for channel activation and
the MODE MODIFY NACK for channel mode modification.
The error causes includes the following:
• Message ID error
• Message type error
• Message sequence error
• Information unit error
• Channel status mismatch
