STEP 19: COMPLETING THE INSTALLATION
Before you can put the RS-4000 On-Board Computer into service, it will first need to have all inputs tested using
the Diagnostic Viewer.
CONNECTING THE DIAGNOSTIC VIEWER
The diagnostic viewer will be used to check the status of the RS-4000 installation and verify input events are
recording normally.
The laptop you are using must be on the same subnet as the RS-4000 for the viewer to connect to the RS-4000.
The vehicle should be in one of the following conditions:
If the cellular modem broadcasts an SSID, obtain the password and connect to it.
If the RS-4000 is connected to a cellular modem without an SSID and the modem has more than one
Ethernet port, connect your laptop to the open Ethernet port.
If the RS-4000 is connected to a cellular modem without an SSID and there is only one Ethernet port,
connect the Ethernet cable from that port to a port on a switch, connect via Ethernet the RS-4000 to the
switch, and lastly connect your laptop via Ethernet to the switch.
If the RS-4000 has to connect to the station’s Wi-Fi, you will have to configure the RS-4000 to connect to
the Wi-Fi first using option 1 on the UIB menu, and then connect your laptop to the same Wi-Fi access
point.
