Base Station Radio Setup 

Note: If you are using the Bluetooth radio modem option, skip this section on Base Station Radio 
Setup and instead follow the instructions in 

Appendix G

 – 

Bluetooth Communications

. 

1.  Be sure the 

SonUtils

 program is installed on your computer (§

1.3

). 

2.  Place the Radio Modem near the computer that will be used for communications. 
3.  Attach the Radio Antenna to the matching silver connector on the rear of the radio. 
4.  Attach the radio modem Power Supply to the matching connector on the rear of the radio. 
5.  Using the supplied serial cable, attach one end to the matching connector on the rear of the 

radio and the other end to the appropriate serial COM port on the computer. 

6. Run 

SonUtils

 and set up the selected COM port for 9600 N 8 1 (defaults). 

7.  The base station radio is now ready to communicate with the RiverCat. 

Mechanical Assembly of the RiverCat 

1.  Place the two catamaran pontoons in front of you on a large, flat surface with the bow 

(pointed ends) facing away from you.
