Storage Manager language is Japanese, the shared folder name can
only be both Japanese and English. Similarly, if the interface
language is German, then the shared folder name can only be
German and English. The same principle can be applied to other
languages.
NASolution NP1040 allows up to sixty-four (64) shared folders, not
including the home folders of users group accounts.
Default shared folders
On each individual volume, NASolution NP1040 installs a shared
folder called publicn , whereas n represents the disk volume. On a
non-RAID configuration with four (4) HDD’s, for example, the folders
will be named
public1 , public2, public3 , and public4 respectively. A
four-disk RAID5 configuration on the other hand will be treated as a
single volume, and only one
public1 folder will be created. However, if
system administrator segments the NAS storage space into multiple
volumes through

Storage Manager , then the system will automatically create a publicn
shared folder for each volume.
The name, description, and path of this folder ( / volumen/publicn )
cannot be changed by the administrator. By default, any user logged
into NP1040 NAS server has full read/write access privileges to this
public folder. System administrator can change the user access
rights of this shared folder through
Windows/Apple/Novell privileges or
NFS privileges tabs.
Modifying a shared folder
On the left side you find the existing shared folders. Click on a folder
name to display the information pertaining to this folder on the right
windowpane. To rename the folder or modify its description, make the
necessary changes on the right and then click
Apply .
