9.2.2 Terminal assignment of the Stratos IF
modules in double-pump mode
see figure 15
9.3
Installing the Stratos IF module
Prior to commencing work on the pump,
the distribution voltage must be switched
off. Work on the module may then only
begin after five minutes have elapsed be-
cause of the presence of hazardous con-
tact voltage (capacitors).Check that all
connections (potential-free contacts too)
are neutral.
x
Remove terminal box lid: see fig. 4.
x
Remove rubber cap from the board contacts: see fig.
13, pos. 1
x
Insert Stratos IF module in the shaft in the terminal
compartment: see fig. 13, pos. 2
x
Slide Stratos IF module onto the board contacts by
applying sidewards pressure with the plug: see fig.
13, pos. 3
x
Attach communication cable: See also 9.1.1/9.1.2.
To keep the EMV standards mentio-
ned in Kap.1.2.2, for the connection
of the digital interfaces LON, PLR and
the control inputs Ext. off, Ext. min
and 0... 10V shielded cables must be
used. This measure does not exclude
an occurrence of EMC disturbances,
because the EMC depends in strong
measure from the electrical opera-
ting conditions (mains connection
line, net impedance, control and sig-
nal lines, bus lines, etc..).
x
In order to put up the shield of these cables at the
pump correctly, use the IF modules enclosed metallic
cable glands:
ATTENTION!
x
IF module LON: cable gland PG 9 and PG 7
x
IF modules PLR, Ext. Off, Ext. Min, SBM: cable gland
PG 9
x
Connecting terminal range PG 7: 3,0...6,5mm cable
outside diameter
x
Connecting terminal range PG 9: 4,0...8,0mm cable
outside diameter
x
Proceed as follows for the assembly of this cable
gland and the appropriate cables (fig. 13):
x
Remove the plastic half screw connection, the pres-
sure ring, the plastic disk and the sealing ring from
the cable entry of the control module (fig. 13, pos.
4a).
x
Screw the metallic cable gland into the cable entry
of the control module (fig. 13, pos. 4b).
x
Remove the cable outside covering 10... 15mm off
of the shielded cable and fold the cable shield over
the outer outside covering (fig. 13, pos. 4c).
x
Insert the cable into the cable gland, until the tur-
ned down cable shield is kept safe by the contact
springs (fig. 13, pos. 4d).
x
Connect the single leads of the cable at the appro-
priate terminals of the IF module.
x
Tighten the union nut of the cable gland with a su-
itable tool (fig. 13, pos. 4e).
x
For a sufficient shielding effect each cable shield
must be connected both sides thus in the switch
cupboard also.
x
If there is only a small amount of space in the pump’s
terminal compartment, it is worth considering an al-
ternative installation:
x
Feed communication cable (offset) through PG
gland,
x
Connect communication cable’s wires to the IF mo-
dule (IF module is not yet inserted),
x
Attach communication cable’s wires to a loop and fit
IF module.
