CENTURION Installation, Operation & Maintenance Manual
SECTION 2: INSTALLATION
Each unit must be connected to a dedicated electrical circuit.
NO OTHER DEVICES SHOULD
BE ON THE SAME ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT AS THE WATER HEATER
.
A switch must be installed on the electrical supply line, external to the unit, in an easily
accessible location to disconnect electrical service quickly and safely. DO NOT attach the
switch to sheet metal enclosures of the unit.
After placing the unit in service, the ignition safety shutoff device must be tested. If an external
electrical power source is used, the installed Water Heater must be electrically bonded to
ground in accordance with the requirements of the authority having jurisdiction. In the absence
of such requirements, the installation shall conform to National Electrical Code (NEC),
ANSI/NFPA 70 and/or the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) Part I, CSA C22.1 Electrical Code.
2.9.2 Electrical Power Panel Internal Components
Remove the front panel to access the main Power Panel. Run the electrical service through the
opening above the Power Panel and make the connections to the Power Breaker in accordance
with the Power Panel cover label.

NOTES:
The 115 VDC to 24 VDC transformer provides power to the Edge Controller, Condensate Block
Sensor and the Sequencing Isolation Valve. It is mounted on rails inside the power box. All
components in the Power Panel are mounted on a DIN rail on the panel.
The 115 V to 12 VDC transformer provides power to the IO Board and O
2
ECU module. Refer
to APPENDIX B
All electrical conduit and hardware must be installed so that it does not interfere with the
removal of any unit covers, inhibit service/maintenance, or prevent access between the unit
and walls or another unit.
2.10 Field Control Wiring
– I/O Board
Each unit is fully wired from the factory with an internal operating control system. No field control
wiring is required for normal operation. However, the Edge Controller used with your Centurion
unit does allow for some additional control and monitoring features. Wiring connections for
