Carry out the following steps:

Sew the fabric on the wrong side.

Place the wide elastic on the fabric.

Attach the elastic using the stretch zigzag stitch (program 09).

You determine the degree of smocking by pulling the elastic.

Hold the elastic in front of and behind the presser foot and keep it
taut while sewing.
