W6 tip: You can also sew appliqués using the open-toe satin stitch foot
(optionally available).
1. Tack the appliqué to the fabric so that it does not slide when being sewn.
! You can also hold the appliqué in place using tacking stitches or
pins.
2. Sew the appliqué on by guiding its edge along the middle of the presser foot.
! Make sure that when the needle moves to the right,
it pierces the fabric away from the edge of the appliqué.

Position the needle just outside the appliqué when sewing corners
and curves.

To do so, lift the presser foot slightly and turn the fabric to maintain the
correct needle position.
3. Sew reinforcing stitches at the end of the seam.
W6 tip: A thin W6 decorative stabiliser helps you to keep the position of the
stitches along the appliqué more accurate. This can then be removed easily. If
necessary, reduce the adjustable foot pressure to 1 to make sewing round
corners easier.
