Sea trial

Check when test running the boat:

•  Instruments  

Check engine rpm, oil pressure, coolant tem-
perature and charging voltage. See 

Operators’s 

Manual.

•  Check engine installation for water, coolant, oil 

and fuel leaks.

•  Check if the maximum engine speed can be 

obtained, see the 

Operators’s Manual. Should 

the maximum engine speed not be obtained, the 
wrong size propeller might be installed. Also, the 
boat might be loaded in a way that results in a bad 
running attitude position in the water.

•  Exhaust backpressure. See chapter 

Exhaust sys-

tem, Backpressure.

•  Keel cooling system for leakages and coolant 

circulation (temperature and pressure, inlet and 
outlet). See 

Cooling system, External cooling.

•  Grease propeller shaft bearings and seals: These 

should be at a low temperature and without 
leakes.  

Check over the whole speed range:

•  That the engine room temperature is kept at an 

acceptable level.

•  Abnormal noise and vibrations.
•  Verify that the steering and controls are correctly 

connected and correspond to the boat’s move-
ment.
