Removing and installing electronics box
(E-box)
Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Torque wrench - V.A.G 1410-
Caution
To disconnect and reconnect the battery, the procedure de‐
scribed in the workshop manual should be strictly adhered to

Removing
– Switch off ignition and all electrical consumers, and withdraw
ignition key.
– Disconnect battery
⇒ page 5
.
– Release catches -arrows- and remove lid of electronics box
-1-.
– Make a note of the assignment of electronics box connections.
Caution
♦ Electrical components protected by the multiple fuse can
fail!
♦ When the nuts for the wiring connections are undone, the
multiple fuse will be damaged!
♦ The multiple fuse must be renewed after any loosening of
the connections!
