During the self test, the sound of the push rod moving inside ATC can be
heard. When the self test is complete, the LED will turn GREEN to signal that
ATC is active.
If the LED changes to flashing Green the ATC is active but the self test has
not been completed fully. Drive forward a few metres to allow ATC to
complete self check. LED should now be showing a constant Green.
If LED shows RED disconnect 13 pin plug from towing vehicle, wait approx 5
seconds and reconnect. If LED now shows GREEN ATC is active and OK.
If ATC shows constant RED ATC log file memory exceeded Caravan can be
towed but ATC will not apply brakes in the event of instability (See to clear
log file).
If ATC shows a RED flashing LED ATC has detected a fault.
Disconnect 13 pin plug from towing vehicle, wait approx 5 seconds and
reconnect, if LED now shows GREEN ATC is functioning correctly. If ATC
shows a RED flashing LED ATC is faulty and before the Caravan can be towed
the Push Rod should be removed (see troubleshooting).
If the LED does not illuminate when connection to the towing vehicle is
made either the ATC has no power or the LED is faulty. Disconnect 13 pin
plug from towing vehicle, wait approx 5 seconds and reconnect. If LED does
not show GREEN check for position of Push Rod (see troubleshooting) if no
red line is visible ATC is not active and unit can be driven.
To check LED fault check for constant live on pin 9 towing vehicle 13 pin
plug.
If live check OK, check PUSH ROD position if RED line is visible on the PUSH
ROD do not tow Caravan. Red line not visible possible to drive but contact
AL-KO.
