The charger is able to operate within a wide range of input voltages and
provide a stable output voltage even under load.
The charger has an output current taper characteristic as recommended by
battery manufacturers.
It can be left on for long periods without causing any battery damage.
The charging unit can provide up to maximum of 20 - amps output, and
therefore capable of charging 2 x 110Amp. 12V leisure batteries.
The battery charger is fully automatic so if a 12V battery is in circuit and
then a mains supply is connected (site supply, home supply or generator)
battery charging will automatically commence. The 12V system, with the
exception of the 12V refrigerator and battery charging, will not operate
when the Caravan is connected to the towing vehicle.
The charger is protected by both mains (MCB 3) and DC output fuses. When
replacing fuses use only one of the same type and rating.
Battery Choice:
It is recommended that a good quality leisure battery should always be in
circuit when the system is in use.
A proprietary brand leisure deep cycling heavy-duty 12V 110 or 120 amp
capacity battery is recommended, to provide power for lights and other
electrical appliances.
Note: Any battery should be checked dimensionally before purchasing to
ensure fitment within the battery compartment, as brands vary in size.
