Care and Maintenance
Since all bearing points are equipped with
sintered bearing the SG 561 will not require oiling dur-
ing its entire Service Care and maintenance in the are restricted
to checking and cleaning at regulär UHER Service agents
should be consulted for this task. The cleaning of tape-touching parts
(that from time to time may be needed, may be recognized by a loss
in playback response, especially of high frequencies) can easily be per-
formed by the user himself. For this purpose, first pull the cover cap in
front of the tape head up and off. The magnetic tape heads
(B), (C) and (D), the tape guides (E), (F), (G), (H), well the tape
guide roller (l), pressure roiler (K) and the capstan (L) will be easily
accessible and may be cleaned with the cleaning fluids contained in
UHER Special Cleaning Kit Z 172 to remove deposits of dust and tape
coating.
The SG 561 is a highly developed precision machine; its
Operation depends upon the exact co-functioning of its mechanical and
electrical components. In designing these important parts, attention
was given to obtaining the degree of operational reliability.
Should malfunctions appear at any time, we recommend Consulting an
experienced audio technician, for experience has shown that he will
best be to spot and correct the (that will usually be of a
