Using the Channel Lockout Facility
To lockout channels using the facility in the text user interface, perform the following steps.
(1) Connect to the text user interface of the Access Point. Note: You must be locally connected, either via Telnet or the Serial interface.
(2) Browse to the Spectrum Analyser facility. This is found under “Configuration -> Spectrum Analyser”
(3) Perform a repetitive sweep of the spectrum (by selection option “A”) and leave this sweep running for several minutes. Once you are satisfied
that the sweep has been completed over an adequate length of time, stop the sweep using option “B”
(4) You should now be presented with a screen that looks similar to the one shown below.
Note that at the top of the screen, the text user interface (TUI) displays the current channel number that the cursor is located at, the number of
channels that are currently locked out and the maximum number of channels that can be locked out.
(5) Using your left and right arrow keys, move the cursor over the channel number you wish to exclude and set the channel for exclusion using
option “E” as shown below.
Note that locked out channels are noted with a “#” character. The TUI also advises how many more channels need to be locked out in order
to have a prime number of channels (not locked out) remaining. When finished, press the “ESC” key which will return you to the programming
interface.
