Removing the internal modem
To remove the internal modem.
1. Save your data and turn off the computer.
2. Disconnect the AC adaptor and other peripheral devices.
3. Close the display of the computer, turn the computer upside down
and remove the battery pack.
4. Remove one screw securing the cover. (The place of a battery pack)
5. Push the display latch on the front of the computer and open the
display panel, slip your finger under a notch at the end of the
keyboard brace and remove the keyboard brace. Slip your finger
under a notch at the end of the both sides of keyboard brace, slowly,
pull carefully and raise from right-hand side.
6. Remove two screws of the keyboard upper part and shift a keyboard
to a display side.
7. Remove three screws securing the palm rest.
8. Lift off the palm rest.
A standard label (PTT label) can be checked.
9. Remove two screws securing the modem board.
10. Disconnect the modem cable.
11. Seat the palm rest removed in step 7 and 8 secure it with three
screws.
12. Seat the keyboard removed in step 6 secure it with two screws.
13. Seat the keyboard brace removed in step 5. Put tab of the front of
keyboard brace in the keyboard side of the computer, and push the
brace back side and right and left and attach.
14. Close the display of the computer, turn the computer upside down
and secure one screw removed in step 4.
