Installing the Valve Actuator
1. Align the actuator to the manifold valve ( Figure
109 ).
2. Secure the actuator and valve with the retainer
that you removed in step
2 of Removing the
Valve Actuator (page 79) .
Storage
Storage Safety
•
Shut off the engine, remove the key (if equipped),
and wait for all movement to stop before you leave
the operator’s position. Allow the machine to cool
before adjusting, servicing, cleaning, or storing it.
•
Do not store the machine or fuel container where
there is an open flame, spark, or pilot light, such
as on a water heater or other appliance.

Short-Term Storage
(Less than 30 days)
Perform the procedures that follow:
1. Cleaning the Exterior of the Machine (page 86)
2. Preparing to Condition the Sprayer (page 86)
3. Conditioning the Sprayer (page 87)
Cleaning the Exterior of the Machine
Important:
Do not use brackish or reclaimed
water to clean the machine.
1. Park the machine on a level surface; engage
the parking brake; shut off the spray pump and
the engine; remove the key; and wait for all
movement to stop before leaving the machine.
2. Clean the dirt and grime from the entire machine,
including the outside of the cylinder-head fins
and blower housing of the engine.
Important:
You can wash the machine
with mild detergent and water. Do not use
high-pressure water to wash the machine.
Pressure washing may damage the electrical
system or wash away necessary grease at
friction points. Avoid excessive use of water,
especially near the control panel, lights,
engine, and the battery.
Preparing to Condition the Sprayer
1. Move the machine to the drain pad area, engage
the parking brake, shut off the spray pump, shut
off the engine, remove the key, and wait for all
movement to stop before leaving the operator’s
position.
2. Drain the fresh-water tank and leave the tank
spigot open.
3. Drain the sprayer tank as completely as
possible.
