MONITORING THE FUNCTION STATUS
The operation state of the Voxell LCR equipment may be monitored via OAM program, by
means of the three indicator LEDs and is also signaled by different tones that you hear in the
handset of the phone connected to Voxell LCR FXS. Out of these, the LED indicators are the most
important, since they are always available to give you useful information about the state of the
Topex box!
8.1. The LED’s significance
The equipment has three status LED’s.
These optical indicators are located on the right side of the
Voxell LCR FXS, and their colors are red, orange and green
(from top downwards, as shown in the drawing to the right)
They are marked as shows below (with text):
FXS - Red LED - FXS status
USB / MOBILE– Orange LED - wireless module status
FXO – Green Led - FXO status
FXS Led:
- the uppermost LED - red color - indicates the state of the FXS interface
- OFF = on hook
- ON (lights up) = off hook
USB / MOBILE Led:
- the middle LED - orange color - it shows the state of the 2G/3G mobile module:
- upon start-up - blinking 500 ms on, 500 ms off - the GSM/UMTS module is initializing. This
is a normal state when Voxell LCR begins operation or after reset!
- during the initializing state of module, if the SIM has activated the option "PIN code
request" and the value of the actual PIN code of the SIM card is different from the value stored by
the equipment, Voxell LCR will get into the state of waiting for PIN code.
This waiting for PIN state is shown by the middle status LED blinking, 400 ms on, 400 off.
You must send the correct value of the PIN code to the equipment, by means of an analog
phone connected to its FXS interface or via OAM.
- when the PIN code is sent incorrectly to the SIM three times in a row, the SIM will request
the PUK code (if you don’t enter the correct PUK code the SIM will be locked preventing further
operation). This waiting for PUK state is shown by the middle status LED blinking very fast: 100
ms on, 100 ms off.
- when the module is in the data transfer mode, this is shown by the LED blinking in
sequence : 300ms on, 300ms off, 300ms on, 300ms off, 300ms on, 900 ms off ; it is blinking three
times
- finally, when the module is registered with the voice network, the LED blinks to indicate
the level of the received radio signal : t_lev on, 300ms off, t_lev on,1500 ms off; blinking twice
The duration “t_lev” is proportional to the RF reception level – it is 200ms when the level
is less of equal to 95dBm and 500ms when the level is over 95dBm.
