ACHIEVING A VOICE LINK
7.1
Installing the equipment
Voxell LCR can be connected in several ways:
-
With its FXS interface to an analogue trunk of a PBX exchange
-
With its FXS interface directly to an analogue phone
-
With its FXO interface to the PSNT
-
With its FXO interface to a local extension (office subscriber) of PBX exchange
-
With both interfaces to the PBX.
To this purpose Voxell LCR has two interfaces with RJ11 connectors; one is for FXO connection and
the other for FxS connection.
The LCR version of Voxell LCR can connect both interfaces at the same time, achieving advanced
routing of calls.
The configuration of the interfaces selection is done through the OAM software application (see
chapter 5.7).
In the next two chapters are presented the main voice connections of equipment.
7.2
Using the FXS interface
Connecting to a PBX trunk or a telephone
Use the FxS interface of Voxell LCR (which must be enabled), see below the figure 5.

Note:
To ease the configuration of the equipment, it is recommended to make a temporary
connection of Voxell LCR to a DTMF telephone (that has the capacity to generate „tones”). This
way you can set up parameter by dialing special codes, and into the handset you can hear the
alarm tonalities by means which Voxell LCR informs you about its operating status or sends error
warnings.
