Rotary Valve Service

High temperature valves require conditioning when the rotor is replaced. If a
high temperature valve (WT or UWT series) is used at less than 300°C, it may
become sticky or difficult to turn. This tendency can usually be eliminated by
repeating the conditioning procedure that is initially done at the factory. With
carrier gas (oxygen-free) flowing through all the ports, rapidly heat the valve to
325°C. When this temperature is reached, cycle the valve 10 times and let it
cool to operating temperature.
