Thermo Scientific CryoStar NX70 Operator Guide

Cutting Window

The cutting window allows the user to customise this setting for each specimen.

•

On the Main screen press the "Cutting Window" button.

•

The Set Cutting Window screen will be displayed.

To set the lower limit of the cutting window

•

Turn the handwheel so that the lower edge of the specimen is positioned slightly above the blade

edge.

•

Press the “Start" button.

•

The lower limit should now be set and the "Start" button is highlighted in yellow.

To set the upper limit of the cutting window

•

Continue turning the handwheel clockwise so that the upper edge of the specimen is positioned

just below the blade edge.

•

Press the “End" button.

•

The "End" button is highlighted in yellow.

Next Steps

•

Press "OK" to confirm the setting and to

return to the Main screen.

•

Press the "Back" button to exit back to the

Main screen without saving the changes.

•

Press the “Start/Stop” button on the right

control panel twice to start sectioning.

Note

A cutting window should only be set during the downward stroke.
