Thermo Scientific Orion AQUAfast AQ3700 Colorimeter User Guide

1.1 Methods

Notes:

1. The reagent reacts with all soluble iron and most insoluble forms of iron in the water
  sample.
2. Iron oxide requires prior digestion: use mild, vigorous or acid digestion (e.g. for
  digestion with acid see page 105).
3. Very strong alkaline or acidic water samples must be adjusted to a pH value between
  3 and 5 before analysis.
4. Accuracy is not affected by undissolved powder.
5. Water samples containing visible rust should be allowed to react for at least five minutes.
