HEAT RECOVERY COIL – 20kW
INSTALLATION
o
The heat recovery coil must be installed on a firm level surface
o
The heat recovery coil must be given adequate ventilation to allow proper air flow
around the unit
o
All power cable should be installed through the cable glands and tightened to ensure
adequate protection against the weather and prevent damage to the cables
o
Ensure the covers on the junction box are re-installed properly to ensure weather
ingress integrity
o
All pipe work too and from the fan coil unit needs to properly insulated to ensure
maximum efficiency and prevent sweating
o
The fan coil unit needs 3 phase power and should only be wired by a qualified
electrician and the phases must be wired correctly to ensure correct rotation and
balance between the phases
o
There are small bleed points that can be accessed through holes in the metal work
on the underside of the unit. They should be opened to ensure that all the air is bled
from the system.
The fan coil unit has water fittings for hot water from the heat pump and cold water from the
heat pump. As shown in the diagram below, the hot water connections from the heat pump
are connected to the fitting as shown. The motorised ball valve is on the
supply water line

The evaporator water from the heat pump is
connected to the fitting on the righ hand side
as shown
– again the motorised ball valve is
on the supply water line.
The unit has a remote start relay
– this relay
is shown on the wiring diagram as
“RS” and
a 240V power supply needs to connection to
terminals 5 and 6 in the junction box.
