CONTROL
To protect the system the evaporator the water to water units will be supplied with a flow
meter so if the flow drops then it will shut the unit down until the flow returns.
There is also an evaporator water temperature sensor and if the temperature drops below
this set point it will shut the unit down until the water temperature increases.
The water to water units still have a flow switch in the condenser water line so if this trip it will
interrupt the flow control of the evaporator water. A generic flow alarm will be raised.
Investigation will be needed to check whether the fault is condenser water or evaporator
water. The data logs will help with this.
SERVICE and MAINTENANCE
Warning: Always isolate the power from the heat pump prior to working on the unit.
Warning: Always ensure that personnel have read and understood the SAFETY section of
this manual prior to working on the heat pump.
Warning: When the mains controller is de-energised the power contactors are live, even if the
components are not operating.
All maintenance must be carried out by qualified refrigeration mechanics.
These units have been designed for the minimum of maintenance. However to ensure
optimum performance qualified personnel should carry out regular maintenance. A
comprehensive preventative maintenance program is available through Thermex carried out
by qualified refrigeration mechanics.
Should any faults be identified then please call Thermex to arrange a service call.

Accessing the electrical box – standard heat pump
There will be two M6 bolts on the front of the unit. Unscrew these to gain access to the
electrical switching gear. Always remember that there are parts in the electrical enclosure
that are operating at line voltage only qualified technicians should access the electrical box.
