This mode of use is typically selected when the
climber is not confident about the structural
strength of one anchor on its own, or when an
anchor needs to be created between two existing
points. Depending on the length of the sling and the
position desired for the anchor, either the end small
ring (first picture) or a ringLOOP (second and third
pictures) will be chosen for the retrieval end of the
anchor.
Note that the combined strength of the two anchors
is used to create a single „virtual“ anchor.
Warning:
The angle between the rope sections around the
upper anchor points may be 120° maximum to limit
the load exerted on the rope sections (cf. red au-
xiliary lines in pic. 9/page 7). The anchors must be
chosen to make sure that the rope cannot glide off.
4. SYSTEM WITH TWO ANCHOR POINTS
(in combination with ringLOOP)
(Pic.11-13/page 7)
This configuration creates a connection to two
separate anchor points for a climbing system i.e.
the anchor is backed up. The anchors may be some
distance apart or close together. If the anchors are
separated and one anchor fails, the climber will be
subjected to a swing, therefore it is important to
consider the relative positions of the two anchors
and lateral forces placed upon them. Again, it is
possible to create a ‘virtual’ anchor point from two
(or more) structural features. The retrieval end of the
system may again use the small ring stitched into
the multiANCHOR or a ringLOOP (as under use 3.
equalising anchor).
Warning:
The angle between the rope sections around the
upper anchor points may be 120° maximum to
limit the load exerted on the rope sections (cf. red
auxiliary lines in the picture under mode of use 3
(pic.9, page 7)).
The anchors must be chosen to make sure that the
rope cannot glide off.
RETRIEVAL OF THE SYSTEM
(Pic.14-16/page 8)
Consideration should be given to retrieval when the
system is initially installed! The retrieval end of the
system is the one with the small ring.
A retrieval ball catches in the last ring of the system
as the climbing line is pulled out. On its way to the
small ring, the ball passes through additional large
rings. The middle ringLOOPs which are configured
on a bite in the rope between the two anchor points
are pulled out in the normal way.
MOUNTING OF RINGLOOP OR SIRIUS LOOP
For replacement, it is imperative that you use only
the replacement part approved by the manufacturer.
Before using the equipment again, be sure to verify
that the spare part has been replaced correctly. If
you lack the experience, skills, and knowledge that
are necessary for this job, please consult a com-
pentent person or the manufacturer.
(Pic.17-20/page 9)
Note that the ropes must not cross but always lie
parallel.
Never carry out work with this product if, as a result
of your physical and mental condition,
your safety might be compromised in scenarios of
normal use or in emergencies!
Do not place this product near sharp edges!
Care should be taken to ensure that the rope (or
any other part of the system) is routed away
from surfaces that may damage the rope (or any
other component), or that suitable and sufficient
protection is appropriately placed to ensure the
rope and other components are protected.
Keep away from surfaces which may cause damage
to the the work equipment e.g.sharp or
abrasive surfaces or edges.
The anchor device shall be used for personal pro-
tective equipment and not for lifting devices -
as in rigging operations!
Modifications or additions to this product apart
from the described use together with ringLOOP or
SiriusLOOP are unacceptable, unless done by the
manufacturer.
Prior to every use, this product must be subject to a
visual inspection in order to verify its integrity, readi-
ness for use and proper functioning.
Once the product has been subject to a fall, its use
must be discontinued immediately. If the slightest
doubt remains, the product must be retired or may
