Chapter 9 – Maintenance

TestEquity 101H Temperature/Humidity Chamber
How to clean the chamber interior and exterior
•
Wipe or vacuum out all debris.
•
Clean surfaces with a damp cloth, mild detergent, or stainless-steel cleaner. Avoid cleaners
that are abrasive or leave a residue. NEVER use steel wool.
•
If you clean the interior with something other than water, you may want to operate the
chamber at high temperature (approxi85
°
C) after cleaning. This helps to “bake out”
any residue. Remove the port plugs to permit the residual vapors to escape.
•
Clean the silicone door gaskets with a damp cloth or mild detergent.
•
Clean the exterior painted surfaces with a damp cloth or mild detergent. If you are using a
detergent, test a small inconspicuous area to make sure it does not damage the finish.
How to drain the reservoir
1.
Unplug the chamber from the power source.
2.
Unscrew the reservoir cover from the top of the chamber and inspect the water. If the water
looks dirty or has particulates it should be drained and refilled.
3.
If the chamber is connected to a plumbed water source, turn off the water feed.
4.
Connect the supplied elbow fitting and hose to the Maintenance Drain.
5.
Allow water from this hose to drain into a bucket which can hold at least 2.5 gallons of
water. This bucket must be at a level below the chamber to permit water to flow by gravity.
6.
Locate the Drain Valve access panel towards the back-left side of the chamber. Remove the
screws which hold the access panel in place.
7.
Turn the Drain Valve handle counter-clockwise to open the valve. Water will now drain from
the hose connected to the Maintenance Drain into the bucket. When the water has finished
draining, turn the Drain Valve clockwise to close it. Reattach the access panel.
8.
If you are using the chamber in a stand-alone mode without any plumbing, refill the water
reservoir with. 1 to 2 gallons of supermarket-grade distilled water or deionized water.
Do not
use unfiltered tap water! Do not use lab-grade double-distilled water!
9.
If the chamber is connected to a plumbed and filtered water source, turn the water supply
back on. The reservoir will automatically re-fill to the correct level.
Closed (normal operational) position. Open (maintenance) position
