Essential activities during maintenance is removing the ash from the ash box and refilling the tank with the fuel. It is to
be remembered that the fuel In the tank is constantly refilled. The minimum amount of the fuel is a layer about 40 cm
thick. In the case of a smaller amount of the fuel there might be dusting from the tank.
It is essential to remember that the fuel tank should be firmly closed all the time.
6.2.4. THE
USER’S
DUTIES.
6.2.4.1. WEEKLY MAINTENANCE
- Open the fire door and check the condition of the fire in order to recognize abnormalities.
- Remove the slag from time to time if it appears in excess in the furnace of the boiler bearing in mind the previous
guidelines and the necessity of proper regulation the proportions of the fuel mass and the air in- blow. In the case of
a permanent slag occurrence, check if the fuel type is compatibile with the suggested characteristics
- Check the fuel level in the tank chamber.
6.2.4.2. MONTHLY MAINTENANCE
Perform the activities of a weekly maintenance. In addition:
- Check the build up of the slag remnants in the retort, possibly extinguish the boiler and clean up the retort.
-Check if there is no accumulation of coal dust or other waste in the tank chamber or in the casing pipe of the fuel feeder
and remove them.
- Check the condition of the air jets and if the air outlet openings are patent.
The above activities must also be carried out after the end of the heating period.
6.2.5. THE FEEDER NOT IN OPERATION. COMMENTS.
If the boiler and the feeder is not in operation the following rules must be fulfilled:
-Once In three months start the worm for 15 min. Thanks to this the obstruction of the worm inside the pipe is avoided.
-Clean the fuel remnants off the pipe, empty the bunker, clean the retort, unscrew the lower lid and remove the ash.
6.2.6. FEEDER
PRESERVATION.
The feeder was constructed in such a way that costly preservation is not required. Occasionally dust, fuel and ash
remnants should be removed from the feeder. The engine casing should be cleaned regularly. Because the reducers are
filled with synthetic oil that is meant to last for the total period of the operation, they generally do not require any
particular preservation except for the outer cleaning. No solvents should be used for cleaning since they may cause
damage to the sealing rings and seals.
The preservation of the engine:
according to the Engineering specification for the engine.
The preservation of the fan:
– according to the engineering specification for the central heating boiler . With the
means of a vacuum cleaner once every three months !
