When the brushes are set a forward angle, the rear of the brush does not touch the surface.
This brings the rubbish in front of the suction mouth so that it does not revolve with the
brush.
The sideways angle is adjusted to the shape of the surface or the degree of brush wear. Some
vehicle models are equipped with a hydraulic sideways adjustment which can be operated
from the cabin.
If the sideways angle is too large, it will create space between the brush and the
suction mouth, leaving a line of rubbish behind. This effect increases with
increased brush wear.
Figure 31:
1)
Unscrew the 2 nuts ‘A’ of the brush suspension.
2)
Set the forward angle:
-
Turn bolts ‘B’
to the right to increase the
forward angle
.
-
Turn bolts ‘B’
to the left to decrease the
forward angle
.
3)
Set the sideways angle:
-
Tilt the brush by hand to adjust the sideways
angle to the surface.
4)
Once the correct setting as been obtained, tighten
the 2 nuts ‘A’.
9.2.3.
Adjusting the brush pressure
The correct setting for the brush pressure among other
things depends on the type of litter, the surface, the brush wear and the driving speed. Taking
into account these circumstances an acceptable brush pressure must be selected.
The setting of the brush pressure is done hydraulically. Use the following two switches on the
middle dashboard to do so (fig. 6):
•
Switch 11
: setting brush pressure of left brush
•
Switch 12
: setting brush pressure of right brush
If the brush pressure us too high, they will wear more quickly
