VEHICLE OPERATION

Always observe the safety regulations and measures described in section 2.2,
2.3, 2.4 and 2.7.

Before entering traffic, the operator should be sufficiently familiarized with the handling of
the sweeper vehicle. This applies particularly to the large steering radius (60°) and the
hydraulic drive mechanism.
After sufficient practice with the sweeper vehicle the operator may participate in traffic as
long as local traffic regulations are observed.
Drive carefully at all times, particularly when driving up or down gradients. The driving style
should always be adapted to prevailing conditions.

All maneuvers should be stopped if traffic conditions do not allow for their
execution.

In connection with safety:

o

the vehicle must have sufficient lights, and

o

the warning beacons must be switched on.

4.1.

Before driving

Before driving the vehicle the “checkpoints for sweeping” in section 9.1 should
be studied.

»  The driver seat must be adjusted to the driver’s posture. This is to improve seating

comfort and prevent physical complaints. For the adjustment options please refer to the
original operating manual of the chair (supplied).

»  The mirrors should be adjusted manually so that the driver can observe the following

from his seat:

-

The left brush must be checked via the outside mirror on the left, on top of the
vehicle.

-

Via the rear-view mirrors on both sides of the vehicle it must be possible to
observe traffic in the immediate vicinity of the sides and rear of the vehicle.
