ADJUSTING THE SHORT BELT

Figure 8.2-1

Carry out the procedure described in paragraph:
7.7. “Disassembling the guards”, 7.7.4. “Swivel
belt connector guard” and 7.16.2.
“Disassembling the magnet (Anti bottom dead
point).

1.

Position the linkage at its bottom dead centre,
stand on the pedal of the side being adjusted,
wait for the copper disk of the
electromagnetic brake to stop, and get off the
pedal.

Back off (

or lock down

) the adjusting pin

(a)

to align the slot

(b)

of the pulley

with the

hole on the frame

(c)

, shown in the figure.

CAUTION: Correct alignment is
achieved when an M10 screw locked
down into hole (c) in the frame passes
easily through the slot (b). After
completing the adjustment, remove
the M10 screw.
