11. CONNECT TO PC
You can operate the DS unit not only by using front panel controls, but also by using a browser
running on the PC connected via network in order to set the record conditions and to transfer
recorded data files.
You can mount the internal hard disk of the DS unit as a network drive of the PC.
Refer “12 <NETWORK> MENU” for network settings of the unit.

CPU: Pentium IV 850 MHz or higher
OS: Windows 2000/XP
Memory: 256 MB or larger
Free HDD space: Size must be larger than one of the data files to be transferred.
LAN Port: 1000BASE-T
Can be used 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX for setting the record conditions.
Browser: IE 6.0
Refer “12. <NETWORK> MENU” for connecting between the PC and the DS unit.
Refer “13. CONTROL BY USING BROWSER” for the explanations of the browser controls of the
PC.
Installing JRE
Install “Java™ 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (JRE)” before starting the browser
operations. When you connect your PC that no JRE is installed to the DS, the JRE down load
will be started. Follow the instructions on your PC to install the JRE. Then, Java Applet
on the DS is downloaded into your PC.
How to Install JRE
(1) Start downloading. (2) Select <I accept…>, then click <Next>.
(3) Select <Typical>, then click <Next>. (4) Click <Finish> to complete.
CAUTION
Never use JRE version 1.5.* or higher for correct operations.
