Connecting Spur Circuits
Spur circuits may not be permitted in all regions. Check local codes of practice before using Spur detection
circuit configurations.
Connect Spur circuits to terminal-strip X32 of the Taktis Fire Control Panel. Terminate unused loops of the
Taktis Fire Control Panel with zero-ohm shorting-jumpers. Connect zero-ohm shorting-jumpers on the Taktis
Fire Control Panel from OUT ( - ) to IN ( - ) and OUT ( + ) to IN ( + ). The Taktis Fire Control Panel provides a fault
signal when unused loops are not terminated.
The figure below illustrates Spur connections on loop 1 of the Taktis Fire Control Panel.

The loop termination jumpers shown are provided in Resistor Kit (8) Zero Ohm.
Reference Appendix A, for wire gage and length requirements for Loop and Spur Addressable circuit loops.
End of line resistors (EOLRs) are used on Spur addressable loops.
Wire detection-loop-circuits of the Taktis Fire Control Panel according to cable-length and circuit-load and
then ensure that the voltage drop of the cable does not exceed the minimum operating voltage of the circuit-
devices. Detection-loop-circuits can supply up to 500 mA of load current for operating addressable sounders
and beacons.
