6. Boom telescoping control
[Boom length: 9.7 - 31.0 m (31.8 - 101.7 ft)]
CN503(1): Emergency telescoping switch for
3rd/top boom
CN503(2): Emergency telescoping switch for
2nd boom
CN506: 3rd/top boom extending switch
CN859: 3rd/top boom full retraction detection switch

Approximately 24.38 m (80.0 ft) boom
3rd/top boom retract.
CN859 switch: ON
2nd boom retracts.
(Even if stroke remains for the 3rd/top boom
at this time, the hydraulic valve orifice
causes them to retract fully.)
9.7 m (31.8 ft) boom (base)
With CN503(1) switch pressed, extend the 3rd, 4th,
and top boom by approximately 1m (3.3 ft) each.
With CN503(1) switch pressed, retract the
3rd/top boom.
With CN503(2) switch pressed, fully extend the 2nd
boom.
At this time, check that the AML displays the error
code until the boom length reaches 16.4 m (53.8 ft).
With CN503(2) switch pressed, retract the 2nd boom
and reduce the boom length to 15.8 m (51.8 ft) or less.
At this time, because the No. 2 cylinder is connected to
the tank through the hydraulic valve orifice, the 3rd/top
boom may also retract.
9.7 m (31.8 ft) boom (base)
Telescoping is possible only
for 2nd boom.
Boom length: 16.65 m (54.6 ft)
CN506 switch: OFF
2nd boom can be moved to the
stroke end.
(AML works on the basis of
performance with 16.8 m (55.1 ft)
boom.)
CN506 switch: ON
Extension of 3rd/top boom is possible.
(When CN859 switch turns OFF, AML begins
to work on the basis of performance with
24.38 m (80.0 ft) boom.)
Set the limited AML override switch to
“ON”.
