PEP Replacement

This procedure explains how replace the PEP.

Safety Considerations
Procedure
The PEP contains the incoming AC power terminals and sys-
tem circuit breakers. It also has ports for connecting peripheral
devices and a system reset switch. Also included are terminals
for alarm contact outputs and the degaussing switches for the
monitors.
The SCSI PERIPHERAL port connection is for a DAT tape drive
or optical disk drive. The upper degauss switch (U. DEGAUSS)
corrects picture distortion due to magnetic fields on the screen
of the upper (swivel mounted) monitor. The lower degauss
switch (L. DEGAUSS) provides the same function for the lower
monitor. The RESET pushbutton resets the multibus cards to
an initial power up condition.

WARNING
1. There are exposed AC and DC connections inside the cabi-
net. These exposed electrical connections present a shock
hazard that can cause injury or death.
2. Disconnect the AC line cord or power lines from the operating
branch circuit coming from the source before attempting electri-
cal connections. Instruments powered by AC line voltage consti-
tute a potential for personnel injury due to electric shock.
