Introduction
Overview
The Conductor VMS™ Series 43 Auxiliary Terminal is a remote
dual monitor and keyboard interface that connects to a main
workstation. The main workstation connects to the INFI-NET
®
communication highway.
In this document, auxiliary terminal refers to a C-I-CV43C
auxiliary terminal and main workstation refers to a
C-I-CV43S-X1, C-I-CV43S-X2, or C-I-CV43S-X3 console; or a
C-I-CV43S-XA or C-I-CV43S-XD driver cabinet. Refer to Table
1-1 for the C-I-CV43S instruction number.
This instruction contains information and procedures neces-
sary to install, maintain and repair the Conductor VMS Series
43 Auxiliary Terminal.
Intended User
This instruction is intended for use by technical personnel
responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of the
auxiliary terminal.
System engineers and technicians with a background in pro-
cess control systems should read this instruction thoroughly
before installing and using the system.
Do not put the terminal
into operation until reading and understanding this instruc-
tion. It is a reference for installers with installation and main-
tenance experience on process control equipment. It is not a
tutorial.
Description
These units are auxiliary terminals for the main workstation.
They provide a remote operator interface for displaying graph-
ics, alarm summaries, Symphony Enterprise Management and
Control System status and for logging, trending and process
control. The auxiliary terminal allows more than one operator
to use a single main workstation.
