PURPOSE (Contd)

1-for-N protection:

This command is only for timing output cards other than the TO-EA5, EA10, EA10M, EA20, & EA20M
that are set for 1:N protection. The OPR-PROTNSW and RLS-PROTNSW commands switch between a
timing output card and a protection timing output card of the same type in an HS slot.

•

The OPR-PROTNSW command is used to switch from a timing output card in a TO slot to a
protection card of the same type in an HS slot.

•

The RLS-PROTNSW command is used to switch back to a timing output card in a TO slot from
a protection card in an HS slot.

INPUT 

OPR-PROTNSW:[<tid>]:<aid>:<ctag>::<switchfrom>;

The parameter values in the table below are as follows:

= 1–10 for MCA, 1–12 for MAN

Note:  

If automatic switching was set with the SET-ATTR-CONT command and revertive switching

was not set with the SET-ATTR-CONT command and a fault occurred in the working card, then the
working card with the fault was replaced, the two commands (OPR-PROTNSW and RLS-PROTNSW)
reverse function. That is, the OPR-PROTNSW must be used to return to the working card, and the
RLS-PROTNSW must be used to transfer to the protection card.
