Preparing for the 24-Port
Adapter Installation
This chapter describes all of the tasks that must be performed before a client adapter
is installed. Site power, network, cabling, and safety requirements are given along
with unpacking instructions.

Overview of the Installation Tasks
The adapter is usually installed inside the wiring closet or data room at the customer
site. Make sure that the network and power connections are available in the wiring
closet prior to installation.
The installation procedure involves the following tasks:
1.
Verifying that the power, cables, and network connections meet the
requirements.
2.
Unpacking the system.
3.
Rack mounting the adapter.
4.
Installing a 24-port analog/digital punch-down block.
5.
Wiring the punch-down block.
