10.4) ADJUSTMENT OF UPPER THREAD HOLDING DEVICE

10.4.1) Assembly Status Check of the Upper Thread Holding Lever and Upper Thread Holder Driving Plate

The upper thread holder driving plate of the upper thread holder base shall move 1mm away from the
upper thread holder base when operating the upper thread holding solenoid.

If the movement is less than 1mm, the location of the upper thread holding solenoid shall be adjusted to
make the movement of the upper thread holder driving plate 1mm.

If the adjustment is unable to be made after conducting

, the location of the upper thread holding lever

shall be adjusted.

To adjust the location of the upper thread holding lever, remove the arm guard plate (right) from the arm
and place the upper thread holding solenoid at the center of the oval hole. Then loosen the tightening
screw for the upper thread holding lever, and place the flat plate at the lower side of the arm guard plate
(right), making it touch the flat plate of the upper thread holding lever. When they are done, fasten the
tightening screw for the upper thread holding lever. In this case, the upper thread holding lever shall
closely contact the shaft of the upper thread holding solenoid.

Fasten the tightening screw for the upper thread holder lever. When the upper thread holding lever is
manually operated, it shall smoothly operate without left or right clearance.

When the arm guard plate (right) is attached to the arm, complete the adjustment of the upper thread
holder by conducting

holder driving plate of the upper holding (ass'y) to check whether it moves smoothly. If not,
adjust the assembly location of the upper thread holder base.
