ERVER 6024H-8R/6024H-i Manual

SCSI Subsystem (6024H-8R only)

The SCSI subsystem supports up to six 80-pin SCA Ultra320 SCSI hard

drives. Any standard 1" drives are supported. SCA = Single Connection

Attachment.) The SCSI drives are connected to an SCA backplane with

SAF-TE. The SCSI drives are also hot-swap units. A RAID controller card

can be used with the SCA backplane to provide data security.

Note:

The operating system you use must have RAID support to enable the

hot-swap capability of the SCSI drives.

Front Control Panel

The SuperServer 6024H-8R/6024H-i's control panel provides you with sys-

tem monitoring and control. LEDs indicate system power, HDD activity,

network activity, system overheat and (on the 6024H-8R only) power sup-

ply failure. A main power button and a system reset button are also in-

cluded.

I/O Backplane

The SC823S-R500LP/SC823i-550LP is an ATX form factor chassis that is

designed to be used in a 2U rackmount configuration. The I/O backplane

provides seven low-profile motherboard expansion slots (with the use of

special riser cards), one COM port, a parallel port, a VGA port, four USB 2.0

ports, PS/2 mouse and keyboard ports and two gigabit Ethernet ports.

Cooling System

The SC823S-R500LP/SC823i-550LP chassis has an innovative cooling de-

sign that includes four 8-cm hot-plug system cooling fans located in the

middle section of the chassis. An air shroud channels the air flow from

these fans to efficiently cool the processor area of the system. The power

supply module(s) also includes a cooling fan.
