Sun Fire 3800 - 6800 Quick Reference Guide

ID Board

The Sun Fire ID board is a pre-programmed daughter board on the
platform’s centerplane, (The ID board used in the F3800 is incorporated
into the centerplane and is not removable).

The ID board contains a SEEPROM with the following information:

●

platform chassis ID, serial number & host ID.

●

Incorporates six media access controller (MAC) addresses for the
F6800, and four MAC addresses for F3800, F4800, and F4810.

●

platform and component power-on hours

The ID board is considered a single FRU. If this FRU is replaced, we will
ship a blank ID board that automatically updates itself with all the
required information using the system controller’s NVCI.
