Sun Fire 3800 - 6800 Quick Reference Guide

CPU & Memory Configuration

Each CPU processor has two corresponding

physical

DIMM banks.

Each physical bank is split into two

logical

banks

It is possible that a processor might not have any DIMMs installed in
its corresponding DIMM bank, but a populated DIMM bank must have
a corresponding CPU processor installed in order for that memory to
be utilised.

The system board supports the following DIMM sizes:

256MB DIMM Part number 501-5401

●

512MB DIMM Part number 501-5030

●

1GB DIMMs, part numbers 501-6109 & 540-5086 are only supported
on 900MHz and faster system boards.
