Sun Fire 3800, 4800, 4810, and 6800 Platforms

There are four models of Sun Fire platforms as shown below. They are

Midframe

servers built around UltraSPARC™-III processors and PCI or

hot-swappable cPCI I/O.

They have been developed under the codename of

serengeti

. They have

gone through a number of name changes since their inception; they are
included below for your reference:

(Solaris 8 4/01) as a minimum.

only supported on 900MHz and faster system boards.
