Sun Fireplane Switch Boards

Sun Fireplane Switch Boards

The Sun Fireplane switches are used for data and address transfers across
boards.

They are alternatively known as level 2 (L2) switches and repeaters,
although the preferred name is the Sun Fireplane switch.

In the F3800, the equivalent of two Sun Fireplane switch board is
integrated into an active centerplane.
